It took me a while to get used to it.

I bet. It's very different from my Clark, isn't it? Did you have other options? I'm picturing you sitting there with a spread of different fashion choices...

It was Lois, actually, who picked the name. I didn't know until the article she wrote for our interview came out.

And it was Ma who made the tights out of the blanket my father and mother wrapped me in to keep me warm on the way here. All I said was that I wanted my family crest on it-- my birth family, I mean. The rest was all her.

[slimjims]

I like it. It fits you, you know?

Ma's wonderful, isn't she? I think she nailed it on the first try. But that's just me.

[uplifters]

Thanks, Jimmy. But I'm just trying like anyone else would.

And so is Ma, heh. I'll let her know you said that. She'd be happy to hear it-- not a lot of people give her credit for the tights.

Or you could tell her yourself if you come with me next time I go to Smallville.

Oh, now you know I can't turn that down. I have to tell her what a good job she did raising you. And for the tights, too.

I think she'd like that very much.

She already says you're a "marvelous young man".

Oh, what are you telling her about me, hmm? Now I have to really make sure I make a good impression.

Oh, nothing big.

Just how smart you are. And funny. And open-minded, and adventurous, and brave. How lovely your voice is. How being around you makes me feel more at peace than anything else in the world.

And how tiny you are next to me. :-)

Glad you're as fond of that as I am, though.
